2 Samuel 3:18
ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ--ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಜನರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ವಶದಿಂದಲೂ ಅವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ವಶದಿಂದಲೂ ನನ್ನ ದಾಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸು ವೆನು ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ದಾವೀದನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಕರ್ತನು ಸಮುವೇಲನಿಗೆ--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ ಸೌಲನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನೀನು ಎಷ್ಟರ ವರೆಗೆ ದುಃಖವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿರುವಿ? ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊಂಬನ್ನು ತೈಲದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ, ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ವನಾದ ಇಷಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಆದುಕೊಂಡೆನು ಅಂದನು.
