ಆಗ ಆ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರ ದಂಡನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸಿ ಹೊರಟು ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ಬಾಗಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ಸೇದಿ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಲ್ಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಕರ್ತನಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೊಯಿ ದನು.

ಇವನ ತರುವಾಯ ಅಹೋಹ್ಯನಾ ಗಿರುವ ದೋದೋನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾಜಾರನು. ಇವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರು ಓಡಿಹೋದ ತರುವಾಯ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಡಿ ಬಂದ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿದ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಮೂವರು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.

ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು. ಕರ್ತನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದೊಡ್ಡ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಯನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ನೀನೂ ನೋಡಿ ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಟ್ಟೆ; ಈಗ ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ನಿರಪರಾಧಿಯ ರಕ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಮಿಚ್ಪೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯ ತೀರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
