ಆದರೆ ಜನರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಬರಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಓಡಿ ಹೋದರೂ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಧ ಜನರು ಸತ್ತುಹೋದರೂ ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀನಾದರೆ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೀ. ಈಗ ನೀನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗಿರುವದು ಉತ್ತಮ ಅಂದರು.

ಓ ಕತ್ತಿಯೇ, ನನ್ನ ಕುರುಬನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ, ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡಿಗನಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ, ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗು ಎಂದು ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಕುರುಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆ, ಆಗ ಕುರಿಗಳು ಚದರಿ ಹೋಗುವವು; ಆದರೆ ಚಿಕ್ಕವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
