ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಜೀವ ದಿಂದಿರುವಾಗ--ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನನಗೆ ಮಗನಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅರಸನ ತಗ್ಗಿನ ಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಸ್ತಂಭವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ತನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಆ ಸ್ತಂಭಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅದು ಈ ದಿನದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಸ್ಥಳ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಡುವದು.
