ನೋಡು, ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಬರುವ ವರೆಗೂ ನಾನು ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಬೈಲಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

ಅರಸನು ಕಿದ್ರೋನ್ ಹಳ್ಳವನ್ನು ದಾಟಿದನು; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದಾಟಿ ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದು ಹೋದರು.

ಅರಸನು ಚೀಬನಿಗೆ--ಇವು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಚೀಬನು--ಕತ್ತೆಗಳು ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯವರು ಹತ್ತುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳೂ ವಸಂತಕಾಲದ ಫಲಗಳೂ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರು ತಿನ್ನುವ ದಕ್ಕೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವು ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಣಿದವರು ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಅಂದನು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನು ಅಬ್ಷಾ ಲೋಮನಿಗೆ--ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾದರೆ ನಾನು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು.
