ಕರ್ತನು--ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಏಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ನಿನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವೆನು. ಅವನು ಹಗಲಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗುವನು.

ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಾವಲಿಟ್ಟ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಗಳೊಡನೆ ಸಂಗಮಿಸು; ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಯಿಂದ ನೀನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೆಂದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಕೇಳಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರ ಕೈಗಳೂ ಬಲವಾಗಿರುವವು ಅಂದನು.

ತರುವಾಯ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ ತಾಮಾರಳೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವತಿಯಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಹೋದರಿ ಇದ್ದಳು. ಅವಳನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಮ್ನೋನನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಅಮ್ನೋನನ ಹೃದಯವು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸ ದಿಂದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮವಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಮ್ನೋನ ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿರಿ; ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೇನಲ್ಲಾ. ಬಲವಾಗಿರಿ; ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಗಳಾ ಗಿರ್ರಿ; ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
2 ಸಮುವೇಲನು 15:6
ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ನ್ಯಾಯಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿ ದನು. ಈ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕದ್ದುಕೊಂಡನು.

ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಪಾಳತಿಗಾರರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ತುತೂರಿಯ ಶಬ್ದ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಳುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
ಯೆಹೆಜ್ಕೇಲನು 14:9
ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ಮೋಸಹೋಗಿ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ನಾನೇ ಆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಿರುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಾಚಿ ನನ್ನ ಜನರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮಧ್ಯ ದೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಾಶಪಡಿಸುವೆನು.
