ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಹೋಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇಶದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.

ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ವಾರದ ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿನದ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಯೇಸು ಎದ್ದಮೇಲೆ ಆತನು ಮೊದಲು ತಾನು ಏಳು ದೆವ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮಗ್ದಲದ ಮರಿಯಳಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.

ಆಗ ಅಂದ್ರೆಯನು ಸೀಮೋನನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು. ಯೇಸು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ--ನೀನು ಯೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೀಮೋನನು, ನೀನು ಕೇಫನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವಿ ಅಂದನು. (ಕೇಫ ಅಂದರೆ ಕಲ್ಲು ಎಂದರ್ಥ).

ಆಗ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ತನ್ನ ನೀರಿನ ಕೊಡವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ--
