2 Kings 13:7
ಆದರೂ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನಿಗೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಕುದುರೆ ರಾಹುತ ರನ್ನೂ ಹತ್ತು ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಕಾಲಾಳು ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹೊರತು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹ ರಿಸಿ ತುಳಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಧೂಳಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನು.

ಅವನು ಪ್ರಾಂತಗಳ ಪ್ರಧಾನರ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಇನ್ನೂರ ಮೂವತ್ತೆರಡು ಜನರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ತರುವಾಯ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಸಕಲ ಜನರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಏಳು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಆದರೆ ಇಬ್ರಿಯರು ತಮಗೆ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನಾ ದರೂ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕಮ್ಮಾರನಾದರೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಸಮು ವೇಲನು ಎದ್ದು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್‌ ದೇಶದ ಗಿಬೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಸುಮಾರು ಆರು ನೂರು ಜನರಿದ್ದರು.

ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಜನರು ತಮಗೆ ಶ್ರಮೆ ಉಂಟಾದ್ದದರಿಂದ ತಾವು ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಗವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಪೊದೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ದುರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕುಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡರು.
