1 ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾವೇ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತೇವೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿಮಗೆ ತೋರಿಸತಕ್ಕ ಯೋಗ್ಯತಾ ಪತ್ರಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವೋ? ಅಥವಾ ಅಂಥ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಪಡಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಕೋ?
2 ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾವೇ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತೇವೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿಮಗೆ ತೋರಿಸತಕ್ಕ ಯೋಗ್ಯತಾ ಪತ್ರಗಳು ನಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವೋ? ಅಥವಾ ಅಂಥ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಪಡಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಕೋ?
3 ನೀವು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬರೆಯಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದೀರೆಂಬದು ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದೆ; ಅದು ಮಸಿಯಿಂದ ಬರೆದದ್ದಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೇ ಬರೆದದ್ದು; ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಲಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯಲ್ಲ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹೃದಯವೆಂಬ ಹಲಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರೆದದ್ದು.
4 ಇಂಥ ಭರವಸವು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಮಗುಂಟು.
5 ನಮ್ಮಿಂದಲೇ ಏನಾದರೂ ಉಂಟಾಯಿ ತೆಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಮ್ಮಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವೇ ಸಮರ್ಥರೆಂತಲ್ಲ; ನಮಗಿರುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವು ದೇವರಿಂದಲೇ ಬಂದದ್ದು;
6 ಆತನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಹ ಹೊಸ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಥರಾದ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಅಕ್ಷರಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲ; ಆತ್ಮನಿಗನು ಸಾರವಾಗಿಯೇ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅಕ್ಷರವು ಮರಣ ವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ; ಆತ್ಮವು ಜೀವವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
