ಯೋತಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದಾವೀ ದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸ್ಮಶಾನ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅರಸನಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವೆವು; ಅವಳು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಅವನನ್ನು ಆದರಿಸಿ ಅರಸನಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗೆ ಆಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನ ಮಗ್ಗುಲಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಲಿ ಅಂದರು.

ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಆಳಿದ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು ವರುಷಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಿದನು. ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ನಾದಾಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಆಳಿದನು.

ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಿದನು. ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಹೂಣಿಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು. ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯಳಾದ ನಯಮಾಳೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳವಳಾ ಗಿದ್ದಳು. ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬೀಯಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಆಳಿದನು.

ಆಹಾಜನು ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸ ಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನಾರು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಹಾಗೆ ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವನಲ್ಲ.
