1 Samuel 9:7
ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಾವು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಏನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವದು? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಹಸಿಬೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಮುಗಿದುಹೋಯಿತು. ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಲು ತಕ್ಕ ಕಾಣಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ; ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನದೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಾಳ್ಷಾಲಿಷಾದಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನು ಷ್ಯನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಮೊದಲ ಫಲವಾದ ಜವೆಗೋದಿಯ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಾಳಿ ನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ ತೆನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು--ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಬಾ; ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ಹತ್ತು ತಲಾಂತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಆರು ಸಾವಿರ ಬಂಗಾರದ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹತ್ತು ದುಸ್ತು ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು.

ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಡುವ ವರೆಗೆ ನೀನು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗ ಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನುನೀನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವತನಕ ನಾನು ಕಾದಿರುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

ಆಗ ಅವನೂ ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಿವಾರದವರೂ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದರು. ಅವನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತು--ಇಗೋ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವರ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲೆ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರು ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ಆದಕಾರಣ ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಂದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೋ ಅಂದನು.
