ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರೂ ಫರೋಹನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸುವದೇನು? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಾದ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

ಮೋಶೆ ಆರೋನರು ಫರೋಹನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಇಬ್ರಿಯರ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇರುವದು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೇ? ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವಂತೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೋಗಗೊಡಿಸು.

ಆದರೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಲವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತೋರಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರು ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿಳಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವಂತೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

ಆದರೆ ಫರೋಹನು ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೋಗ ಗೊಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
