1 Samuel 27:1
ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ--ನಾನು ಎಂದಿಗಾದರೂ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಸೌಲನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಮಡಿದುಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನಾನು ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವ ದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಸೌಲನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲು ದಿಕ್ಕು ಕಾಣದೆ ಹೋಗುವನು. ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಾನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವೆನು ಅಂದು ಕೊಂಡನು.

ದಾವೀದನು ಎದ್ದು ಆ ದಿನ ಸೌಲನ ಭಯದಿಂದ ಗತ್‌ ಊರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಕೀಷನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿ ಬಂದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಗಾದ್‌ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿರದೆ ಯೆಹೂದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಾ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಹೊರಟು ಹೆರೆತ್‌ ಎಂಬ ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.

ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಸೌಲನ ಕೈ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವಿ; ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ಇರುವೆನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಆಗುವದೆಂದು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಸೌಲನು ಸಹ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿದಾಗ ಏನಾಗುವ ದಂದರೆ, ನೀನು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ರಕ್ತ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೂ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ತನಗೆ ತಾನೇ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದೂ ನಿನಗೆ ವ್ಯಥೆಯಾಗಿರುವದಿಲ್ಲ;

ಆಗ ಆಕೀಷನುಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಲುಕೊಂಡಿರಿ ಅಂದಾಗ ದಾವೀದನು--ನಾವು ಯೆಹೂದದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಎರಹ್ಮೇಲ್ಯರ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಕೇನ್ಯರ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಬಿದ್ದೆವು ಅಂದನು.

ನಾವು ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಶರೀರಕ್ಕೆ ಏನೂ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಯಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಮಗೆ ಕಳವಳವಿತ್ತು ಹೊರಗೆ ಕಲಹ; ಒಳಗೆ ಭಯವಿತ್ತು.
