ದಾವೀದನು ಕೋಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದನು; ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣವೆಂದು ಹೆಸ ರಿಟ್ಟರು.
