ಇವನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಅವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶ ದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಯೆಹೂದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದದರಿಂದ ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿದು ನಾಟ್ಯವಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.

ತರುವಾಯ ಅಬೀಗೈಲಳು ನಾಬಾಲನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಅರಸನ ಔತಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನವಾದ ಔತಣ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು. ಅವನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕುಡಿದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸ ಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವಳು ಉದಯವಾಗುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದದ್ದ ನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಜನರು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ಪಾಳೆಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಶಬ್ದವು ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
