Jeremiah 40
1 ಕಾವಲಿನವರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ನೆಬೂಜರದಾನನು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ಸಂಕೋಲೆ ಗಳಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಬಾಬೆಲಿಗೆ ಒಯ್ಯುವ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಸೆರೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿ ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನಿಗೆ ಕರ್ತ ನಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾದ ವಾಕ್ಯವು.
2 ಕಾವಲಿನವರ ಅಧಿಪ ತಿಯು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ತಾನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಕರ್ತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
3 ನೀವು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿ ಆತನ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದದರಿಂದಲೇ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿ ಸಿದೆ.
4 ಈಗ ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದ ಬೇಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ದಿವಸ ತೆಗೆಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಾಬೆಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದೆಂದು ತೋಚಿದರೆ ಬಾ. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಾಬೆಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದೆಂದು ತೋಚಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಡು. ಇಗೋ ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅದೆ; ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದೂ ಸರಿಯೆಂದೂ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗು ಅಂದನು.
5 ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಇನ್ನು ಹಿಂತಿ ರುಗದೆ ಇರುವಾಗ ನೆಬೂಜರದಾನನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಇಟ್ಟ ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೋ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಜನರೊಳಗೆ ವಾಸ ಮಾಡು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗು ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಕಾವಲಿನವರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನೂ ಬಹುಮಾನವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
6 ಯೆರೆ ವಿಾಯನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮಿಚ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದ ಜನರ ಸಂಗಡ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದನು.
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, which were carried away captive unto Babylon.
2 And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, The Lord thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.
3 Now the Lord hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.
4 And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thine hand. If it seem good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well unto thee: but if it seem ill unto thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.
5 Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.
6 Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.

2 ಕಾವಲಿನವರ ಅಧಿಪ ತಿಯು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ತಾನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಕರ್ತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, The Lord thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.
3 ನೀವು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿ ಆತನ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದದರಿಂದಲೇ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿ ಸಿದೆ.
Now the Lord hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.
4 ಈಗ ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದ ಬೇಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ದಿವಸ ತೆಗೆಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಾಬೆಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದೆಂದು ತೋಚಿದರೆ ಬಾ. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಾಬೆಲಿಗೆ ಬರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದೆಂದು ತೋಚಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಿಡು. ಇಗೋ ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅದೆ; ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದೂ ಸರಿಯೆಂದೂ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗು ಅಂದನು.
And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thine hand. If it seem good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well unto thee: but if it seem ill unto thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.
5 ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಇನ್ನು ಹಿಂತಿ ರುಗದೆ ಇರುವಾಗ ನೆಬೂಜರದಾನನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಇಟ್ಟ ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೋ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಜನರೊಳಗೆ ವಾಸ ಮಾಡು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗು ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಕಾವಲಿನವರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನೂ ಬಹುಮಾನವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.
6 ಯೆರೆ ವಿಾಯನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮಿಚ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದ ಜನರ ಸಂಗಡ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದನು.
Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.
