Genesis 27:13
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಶಾಪವು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಲಿ; ನೀನು ಮಾತ್ರ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯನಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ ಅಂದಳು.

ಕರ್ತನು ಆಕೆಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಇವೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಗರ್ಭದೊಳಗಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಎರಡು ತರವಾದ ಜನಗಳು ಬೇರೆಬೇರೆಯಾಗುವರು. ಒಂದು ತರವಾದ ಜನಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಬಲಗೊಳ್ಳು ವದು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಹಿರಿಯನು ಕಿರಿಯನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಯಾಕೋಬನು-- ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡು ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲತನವನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಾರಿದನು.

ಸೌಲನು ಜನರಿಗೆ--ನಾವು ಈ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟಿಹೋಗಿ ಉದಯಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸುಲುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಉಳಿಸಬಾರದು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರು--ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗಿ ತೋರುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾಡು ಅಂದರು. ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕನು--ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಹೋಗೋಣ ಅಂದನು.
