ಯಾಜಕರೂ ಲೇವಿಯರ ಕೂಡ ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು; ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಶುಚಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸೆರೆಯ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಯಾಜಕರಾದ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ತಮಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಪಸ್ಕ ವನ್ನು ವಧಿಸಿದರು.

ಮೊದಲು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಪಾಪಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆಮೇಲೆ ಜನರ ಪಾಪ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯಜ್ಞಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮಹಾ ಯಾಜಕರಂತೆ ಈತನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸ ಬೇಕಾದ ಅವಶ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಈತನು ತನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಒಂದೇ ಸಾರಿ ಆ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಮುಗಿಸಿದನು.
