ಆಗ ಎಲಾಮನ ಕುಮಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಯೆಹೀಯೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಕೆನ್ಯನು ಎಜ್ರನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ನಾವು ದೇಶದ ಜನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಅಕೃತ್ಯಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಈಗ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಉಂಟು.
