Leviticus 1:7
ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಆರೋನನ ಕುಮಾ ರರು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಇಟ್ಟು ಆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಇಡಬೇಕು.

Leviticus 9:24
ಆಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಬಂದು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ದಹನ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕೊಬ್ಬನ್ನೂ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರು.

ದಾವೀದನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ದಹನ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಆಗ ಆತನು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ದಹನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಗ್ನಿಯಿಂದ ಅವ ನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿ ತೀರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ದಹನ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.

ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಬಾಗಲು ಗಳನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮುಚ್ಚವವನೂ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನನ್ನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಚ್ಚುವವನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನು--ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಾನು ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
