ಆದರೆ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಾಕಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು.

ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಜನಾಂಗ ಯೆಹೋಶು ವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ--ಕರ್ತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಈ ವರೆಗೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮಹಾಜನಾಂಗವಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಹೀಗಿರುವಾಗ ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯೆತೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಂದೇ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಂದರು.

ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ತರುವಾಯ ಇಸ್ಸಾಕಾರನ ಕುಲದ ದೋದೋವಿನ ಮಗನಾದ ಪೂವನ ಮಗನಾದ ತೋಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಎದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಶಾವಿಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಅವರು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪಾಳತಿ ನೋಡಿ ಶೋಧಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚೊರ್ಗದಿಂದಲೂ ಎಷ್ಟಾವೋಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾದ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಯನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇವರು ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಿಾಕನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡರು.
