ಮರಣವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳೊಳಗೆ ಏರಿ ಬಂತು, ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಮನೆ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿತು; ಹೊರಗಡೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೌವ್ವನಸ್ಥರನ್ನೂ ಕಡಿದು ಹಾಕುತ್ತದೆ.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ನಾನು ತುಂಬಿ ದ್ದೇನೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ನನ್ನೊಳಗೆ ಬಿಗಿಹಿಡಿದು ನನಗೆ ಸಾಕಾಯಿತು; ಅದನ್ನು ದೂರ ಇರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರ ಕೂಟ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿಸುವೆನು. ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಗಂಡನು ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಮುದುಕನು ದಿನ ತುಂಬಿದವನ ಸಂಗ ಡಲೂ ಹಿಡಿಯಲ್ಪಡುವರು.

ಒಬ್ಬ ನೆಂಟನೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸುಡುವವನೂ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅವನ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ ಮನೆಯ ಒಳಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ವರಿಗೆ--ಇನ್ನೂ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆಯೇ? ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವನು; ಆಗ ಅವನು--ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದರೆ ಇವನು--ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರು, ನಾವು ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವನು.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಪುತ್ರನೇ ನೀನು ಚಪ್ಪಾಳೆ ತಟ್ಟಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸು; ಹತ ರಾದವರ ಕತ್ತಿಯು ಮೂರನೆಯ ಸಾರಿಯೂ ಎರಡ ರಷ್ಟು ಮಾಡಲಿ; ಅದು ತಮ್ಮ ರಹಸ್ಯ ಕೋಣೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಹಾ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದ ಕತ್ತಿಯೇ.
