1 When Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before thee, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;ನೀನು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಆತನು ನಿನಗಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡ ವರೂ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠರೂ ಆದ ಏಳು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಹಿತ್ತಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಗಿರ್ಗಾಷಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಅಮೋರಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಪೆರಿಜ್ಜೀಯರನ್ನೂ ಹಿವ್ವಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಬಹಳ ಜನಾಂಗ ಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿ

2 and when Jehovah thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shalt smite them; then thou shalt utterly destroy them: thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them;ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲು ನೀನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮೂಲ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು. ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ದಯೆತೋರಿಸ ಬಾರದು.

3 neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು; ನಿನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಅವನ ಮಗ ನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬಾರದು. ನಿನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರನಿಗೆ ಅವನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು.

4 For he will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of Jehovah be kindled against you, and he will destroy thee quickly.ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರರು ಸೇವಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿಸಾರು. ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನ ಕೋಪವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಯಲು ಆತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೇಗ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿಯಾನು.

5 But thus shall ye deal with them: ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire.ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ ಅವರ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನು ಒಡೆದುಹಾಕ ಬೇಕು; ಅವರ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದುಹಾಕಬೇಕು; ಅವರ ತೋಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದುಹಾಕಬೇಕು; ಅವರು ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಡಬೇಕು.

6 For thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God: Jehovah thy God hath chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಜನವೇ; ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಗಳೊಳಗಿಂದ ತನಗೆ ಸ್ವಕೀಯ ಜನವಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿ ದ್ದಾನೆ.

7 Jehovah did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all peoples:ನೀವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿರುವ ಕಾರಣ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನೀವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಬಹಳ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ.

8 but because Jehovah loveth you, and because he would keep the oath which he sware unto your fathers, hath Jehovah brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.ಕರ್ತನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವದರಿಂದಲೂ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಲವಾದ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ದಾಸತ್ವದ ಮನೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಫರೋಹನ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲೂ ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿದನು.

9 Know therefore that Jehovah thy God, he is God, the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಆತನೇ ದೇವರು; ಆತನೇ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು; ಆತನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಿಗೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಸಾವಿರ ತಲೆಗಳ ವರೆಗೂ ಕಾಪಾಡಿ

10 and repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಗೆ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆತನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ತಡಮಾಡದೆ ಮುಖಾ ಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೋ.

11 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command thee this day, to do them.ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ಆಜ್ಞೆ ನಿಯಮ ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

12 And it shall come to pass, because ye hearken to these ordinances, and keep and do them, that Jehovah thy God will keep with thee the covenant and the lovingkindness which he sware unto thy fathers:ನೀವು ಈ ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಕಾಪಾಡಿ ನಡೆದು ಕೊಂಡರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗ ಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕರುಣೆ ಯನ್ನೂ ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವನು.

13 and he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee; he will also bless the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy ground, thy grain and thy new wine and thine oil, the increase of thy cattle and the young of thy flock, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.ಆತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವನು; ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಆತನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಗರ್ಭದ ಫಲ ವನ್ನೂ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಹುಟ್ಟುವಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಧಾನ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕುರಿಮಂದೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವನು.

14 Thou shalt be blessed above all peoples: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ನೀನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನಾ ಗಿರುವಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಪುರುಷರ ಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಪಶುಗಳಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಬಂಜೆತನವು ಇರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.

15 And Jehovah will take away from thee all sickness; and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, will he put upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.ಕರ್ತನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರೋಗಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದು ಬಿಡುವನು; ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ರೋಗಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡದೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬರ ಮಾಡುವನು.

16 And thou shalt consume all the peoples that Jehovah thy God shall deliver unto thee; thine eye shall not pity them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವ ಜನಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೀನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವಿ; ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀನು ಕಟಾಕ್ಷವಿಡಬಾರದು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವರ ದೇವರು ಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಬಾರದು; ಅದು ನಿನಗೆ ಉರುಲಾ ಗುವದು.

17 If thou shalt say in thy heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?ಈ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ನನಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದವರಾ ಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ನಾನು ಹೇಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಶಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು

18 thou shalt not be afraid of them: thou shalt well remember what Jehovah thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ; ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಫರೋಹನಿಗೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಐಗುಪ್ತಕ್ಕೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನು

19 the great trials which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, whereby Jehovah thy God brought thee out: so shall Jehovah thy God do unto all the peoples of whom thou art afraid.ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನೋಡಿದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಉಪದ್ರವ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಉಂಟಾದ ಗುರುತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಲವಾದ ಕೈಯನ್ನೂ ಚಾಚಿದ ತೋಳನ್ನೂ ನೀನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ನೀನು ಯಾವ ಜನಗಳಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತೀಯೋ ಆ ಜನಗಳಿ ಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡು ವನು.

20 Moreover Jehovah thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves, perish from before thee.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಉಳಿದವರೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿ ಉಳುಕೊಂಡವರೂ ನಾಶವಾಗುವ ತನಕ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವ ರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಕಡಜದ ಹುಳವನ್ನು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳುಹಿ ಸುವನು.

21 Thou shalt not be affrighted at them; for Jehovah thy God is in the midst of thee, a great God and a terrible.ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಡ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಭಯಂಕರನಾದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ದೇವರಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

22 And Jehovah thy God will cast out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕುವನು. ಅಡವಿಯ ಮೃಗಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಂಹರಿಸಬಾರದು.

23 But Jehovah thy God will deliver them up before thee, and will discomfit them with a great discomfiture, until they be destroyed.ಆದರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಬಿಡುವನು; ಅವರು ನಾಶವಾಗುವ ತನಕ ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸುವನು.

24 And he will deliver their kings into thy hand, and thou shalt make their name to perish from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.ಅವರ ಅರಸುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು. ನೀನು ಅವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವಿ; ನೀನು ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲ ಮಾಡುವ ತನಕ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಲಾರನು.

25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein; for it is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.ಅವರ ದೇವರುಗಳ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಡಬೇಕು; ಅವುಗಳ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ಆಶಿಸಿ ನೀನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು; ಅದು ನಿನಗೆ ಉರ್ಲಾ ದೀತು; ಅದು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವೇ.

26 And thou shalt not bring an abomination into thy house, and become a devoted thing like unto it: thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing.ನೀನು ಅದರಂತೆ ಶಾಪಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬರ ಬಾರದು; ಅದನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಅಸಹ್ಯಿಸಬೇಕು; ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಹೇಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅದು ಶಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದೇ.
