ಗವಿಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದಾಗ ದುಃಖದ ಧ್ವನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕೂಗಿದನು; ಅರಸನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಿಗೆ--ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಓ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನೇ, ನೀನು ಯಾವಾ ಗಲೂ ಸೇವಿಸುವ ಆ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಿಂಹಗಳಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಲು ಸಮರ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಯೇ? ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.

he cried	זְעִ֑ק	zĕʿiq	zeh-EEK
spake	עָנֵ֨ה	ʿănâ	uh-NA
the king	מַלְכָּ֜א	melek	meh-LEK
and said	וְאָמַ֣ר	ʾămar	uh-MAHR
to Daniel,	לְדָנִיֵּ֗אל	dāniyyēl	da-nee-YALE
O Daniel,	דָּֽנִיֵּאל֙	dāniyyēl	da-nee-YALE
servant	עֲבֵד֙	ʿăbad	uh-VAHD
God,	אֱלָהָ֣א	ʾĕlāh	ay-LA
of the living	חַיָּ֔א	ḥay	hai
is thy God,	אֱלָהָ֗ךְ	ʾĕlāh	ay-LA
whom	דִּ֣י	dî	dee
thou	אַ֤נְתְּה	ʾantâ	an-TA
servest	פָּֽלַֽח	pĕlaḥ	peh-LAHK
	לֵהּ֙
continually,	בִּתְדִירָ֔א	tĕdîrāʾ	teh-dee-RA
able	הַיְכִ֥ל	yĕkēl	yeh-HALE
to deliver	לְשֵׁיזָבוּתָ֖ךְ	šĕzab	sheh-ZAHV
thee from	מִן	min	meen
