ಆಗ ದಾನಿಯೇಲನು ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ದಾನಗಳು ನಿನಗಿರಲಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡು, ನಾನು ಬರಹವನ್ನು ಓದಿ ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು ವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

ಆಗ ಬೇಲ್ಯಚ್ಚರನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಲು ದಾನಿಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ಧೂಮ್ರ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹೊದಿಸಿ, ಅವನ ಕೊರಳಿಗೆ ಹಾರವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ, ಇವನು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮೂವರು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೆಂದು ಸಾರಿ ದನು.
