ಆದರೆ ಕೇಳಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬೆರಗಾಗಿ--ಈ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳುವವರನ್ನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಇವನೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ, ಅಂಥವರನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದನಲ್ಲವೇ ಎಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
