Deuteronomy 4:40
ನಿನಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ತರುವಾಯ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಸದಾಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀನು ಬಹಳ ದಿವಸವಿರುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನಾನು ಈಹೊತ್ತು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ಆತನ ನಿಯಮ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಾಪಾಡು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

Leviticus 26:1
ನೀವು ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡ ಬೀಳಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನು ನಾನೇ.
