22 ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಯೋವಾ ಬನೂ ಒಂದು ಸೈನ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬಹಳ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿ ನಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನು ಇವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇವನು ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಹೋದನು.
23 ಯೋವಾಬನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸೈನ್ಯವೂ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ--ನೇರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು; ಅವನು ಇವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದರು.
24 ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು--ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದಿ? ಇಗೋ, ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು; ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿಬಿಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದು ಯಾಕೆ?
25 ನೇರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ನೇರನನ್ನು ನೀನು ಅರಿತಿದ್ದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ. ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಲು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೊರಡು ವಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಬರುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಯುವಂತೆಯೂ ನೀನು ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿಳಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಬಂದಿದ್ದನು ಅಂದನು.
26 ಯೋವಾಬನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟುಬಂದು ಅವನು ಅಬ್ನೇರನ ಹಿಂದೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಿರಾ ಬಾವಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅದು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇತ್ತು.
27 ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದ ತರುವಾಯ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಬಾಗಲಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಮಾತ ನಾಡಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಅಸಾಹೇಲನ ರಕ್ತಾಪರಾಧದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಪಕ್ಕೆಯ ಐದನೇ ಎಲುಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.
22 And, behold, the servants of David and Joab came from pursuing a troop, and brought in a great spoil with them: but Abner was not with David in Hebron; for he had sent him away, and he was gone in peace.
23 When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.
24 Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?
25 Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest.
26 And when Joab was come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him again from the well of Sirah: but David knew it not.
27 And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

24 ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು--ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದಿ? ಇಗೋ, ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು; ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿಬಿಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದು ಯಾಕೆ?
Then Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold, Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?
25 ನೇರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ನೇರನನ್ನು ನೀನು ಅರಿತಿದ್ದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ. ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಲು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೊರಡು ವಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಬರುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಯುವಂತೆಯೂ ನೀನು ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಿಳಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಬಂದಿದ್ದನು ಅಂದನು.

26 ಯೋವಾಬನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟುಬಂದು ಅವನು ಅಬ್ನೇರನ ಹಿಂದೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಿರಾ ಬಾವಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು. ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅದು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇತ್ತು.
