ಯೋವಾಬನು ಜನರನ್ನು ತಡೆ ದನು. ಅವರು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅಡವಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕುಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಕುಪ್ಪೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋದರು.

1 ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಕುಲದವನಾದ ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಶೆಬನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಬೆಲಿಯಾಳನವನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ತುತೂರಿಯನ್ನು ಊದಿ--ನಮಗೆ ದಾವೀದನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಓ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
2 Samuel 20:22
ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ತನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದಳು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಬಿಕ್ರೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೆಬನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಯೋವಾಬನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಅವನು ತುತೂರಿಯನ್ನು ಊದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ ಚದರಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ಡೇರೆಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದನು.
