ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು--ನಾನು ಹೀಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಆಲಸ್ಯಮಾಡೆನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಮೂರು ಈಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಏಲಾಮರದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವದಿಂದಿರುವಾಗ ಅವು ಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನ ಎದೆಗೆ ತಿವಿದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೂ ಅಬೀ ಷೈಯನಿಗೂ ಇತ್ತೈಗೂ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ--ನನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅರಸನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಕೊಟ್ಚ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳಿದರು.
