ಆಗ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು--ಹಾಗಾ ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಮ್ನೋನನು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಬರಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದಾಗ ಅವನು ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಉಂಡು ಕುಡಿದನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಮಲೇರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗದೆ ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸೇವಕರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.

ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅಮಾಸನಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನೇ, ಕ್ಷೇಮವೋ ಅಂದನು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ಮುದ್ದಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ತನ್ನ ಬಲಗೈಯಿಂದ ಅವನ ಗಡ್ಡವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅಮಾಸನು ಯೋವಾಬನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕತ್ತಿ ಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರುಳುಗಳು ಹೊರಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನ ಪಕ್ಕೆಯ ಐದನೇ ಎಲುಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿವಿದನು.
