ಮರು ವರುಷ ಅರಸುಗಳು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಡುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನಾಯಿ ತಂದರೆ, ಯೋವಾಬನು ಬಲವಾದ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿ ಬಂದು ರಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು. ಯೋವಾ ಬನು ರಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಅದನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದನು.

2 Samuel 11:25
ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ದೂತನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿನಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಗೆ ಯಿಲ್ಲದ್ದಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಬಾರದು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕತ್ತಿಯು ಇವನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಸರಿ ಅವನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಸರಿ ತಿಂದು ಬಿಡುವದು. ನೀನು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬಲವಾಗಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
