1 And it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag;ಸೌಲನು ಸತ್ತ ತರುವಾಯ ದಾವೀದನು ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ ಚಿಕ್ಲಗಿಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದು ಎರಡು ದಿವಸ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ತರುವಾಯ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ

2 it came to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul, with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.ಇಗೋ, ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಣ್ಣು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸೌಲನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಪಾಳೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಹೊರಟು ದಾವೀ ದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅವ ನಿಗೆ ವಂದಿಸಿದನು.

3 And David said unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped.ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದಿ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲಿನ ದಂಡಿನಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದೆನು ಅಂದನು.

4 And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, The people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಡೆದ ವರ್ತಮಾನವೇನು? ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು ಅಂದನು. ಅವನು--ಜನರು ಯುದ್ಧದಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು; ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಸತ್ತುಬಿದ್ದರು; ಸೌಲನೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾ ತಾನನೂ ಸತ್ತರು ಅಂದನು.

5 And David said unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son are dead?ದಾವೀದನು ತನಗೆ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಹೇಳಿದ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನಿಗೆ--ಸೌಲನೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಸತ್ತರೆಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು ಅಂದನು.

6 And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul was leaning upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and the horsemen followed hard after him.ಅವನಿಗೆ ವರ್ತ ಮಾನ ಹೇಳಿದ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನು--ನಾನು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಗಿಲ್ಬೋವ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೆನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಗೋ, ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಈಟಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ರಥಗಳೂ ರಾಹುತರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡೇ ಇದ್ದರು.

7 And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I.ಅವನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ನೋಡಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕರೆದನು. ಆಗ ನಾನುಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದೆನು.

8 And he said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.ಆಗ ಅವನು ನೀನ್ಯಾರು ಅಂದನು.

9 And he said unto me, Stand, I pray thee, beside me, and slay me; for anguish hath taken hold of me, because my life is yet whole in me.ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು. ಅವನು ನನಗೆ -- ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಇನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂರ್ಣ ವಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಸಂಕಟವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಿತು ಅಂದನು.

10 So I stood beside him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord.ಆದದರಿಂದ ಇವನು ಬಿದ್ದ ತರುವಾಯ ಬದುಕಲಾರನೆಂದು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿದು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದೆನು. ಅವನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕಡಗ ವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದೆನು ಅಂದನು.

11 Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು

12 and they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of Jehovah, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.ಸೌಲನೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಜನರೂ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಡಿ ಅತ್ತು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಉಪವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

13 And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a sojourner, an Amalekite.ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಅದನ್ನು ತನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನನ್ನು--ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯ ವನು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು--ನಾನು ಅನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯನು ಅಂದನು.

14 And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to put forth thy hand to destroy Jehovah's anointed?ಆಗ ದಾವೀ ದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನ ಅಭಿಷಿಕ್ತನನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಲು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಚಾಚುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಭಯಪಡದೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು ಹೇಗೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

15 And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him, so that he died.ದಾವೀದನು ಯೌವನಸ್ಥ ನೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು--ನೀನು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳು ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು; ಅವನು ಸತ್ತನು.

16 And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain Jehovah's anointed.ದಾವೀದನು ಅವ ನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನ ಅಭಿಷಿಕ್ತನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದೆನೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿ ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ರಕ್ತವು ನಿನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

17 And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೌಲನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಗೋಳಾಟ ದಿಂದ ಈ ಗೀತೆ ಹಾಡಿ ಗೋಳಾಡಿದನು.

18 (and he bade them teach the children of Judah `the song of' the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jashar):ಇದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಬಿಲ್ಲೆಂಬ ಗೀತವನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು; ಇಗೋ, ಇದು ಯಾಷಾರಿನ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ,

19 Thy glory, O Israel, is slain upon thy high places! How are the mighty fallen!ಏನಂದರೆ--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವು ಉನ್ನತಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಪರಾಕ್ರಮ ಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದರು!

20 Tell it not in Gath, Publish it not in the streets of Ashkelon; Lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, Lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.ಗತ್‌ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಅಷ್ಕೆಲೋನಿನ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ ಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರು ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಟ್ಟಾರಲ್ಲಾ; ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರು ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಪಟ್ಟಾರಲ್ಲಾ.

21 Ye mountains of Gilboa, Let there be no dew nor rain upon you, neither fields of offerings: For there the shield of the mighty was vilely cast away, The shield of Saul, not anointed with oil.ಗಿಲ್ಬೋವ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಂಜೂ ಮಳೆಯೂ ಅರ್ಪಣೆಗಳ ಹೊಲ ಗಳೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಗಲಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಾ ಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳ ಗುರಾಣಿಯೂ ಸೌಲನ ಗುರಾಣಿಯೂ ಅವಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದವು. ಸೌಲನು ಎಣ್ಣೆಯಿಂದ ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಲ್ಪಡದವನ ಹಾಗಾದನು.

22 From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, The bow of Jonathan turned not back, And the sword of Saul returned not empty.ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ವರ ರಕ್ತದಿಂದಲೂ ಬಲಶಾಲಿಗಳ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಬಿಲ್ಲು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಸೌಲನ ಕತ್ತಿ ಬರಿದಾಗಿ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

23 Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, And in their death they were not divided: They were swifter than eagles, They were stronger than lions.ಸೌಲನೂ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಜೀವದಿಂದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಪ್ರಿಯಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಂತೋಷಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದರು; ತಮ್ಮ ಮರಣದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಗಲಿ ಹೋಗದೆ ಇದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಹದ್ದುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ವೇಗವುಳ್ಳವರೂ ಸಿಂಹಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಬಲ ವುಳ್ಳವರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದರು.

24 Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, Who clothed you in scarlet delicately, Who put ornaments of gold upon your apparel.ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆ ಯರೇ, ಸೌಲನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಳಿರಿ, ನಿಮಗೆ ರಕ್ತಾಂಬರ ವನ್ನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ತೊಡಿಸಿದನಲ್ಲಾ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ಉಡುಗೆ ಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಆಭರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನಲ್ಲಾ.

25 How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! Jonathan is slain upon thy high places.ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ! ಯೋನಾತಾನನೇ, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಉನ್ನತಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿ.

26 I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: Very pleasant hast thou been unto me: Thy love to me was wonderful, Passing the love of women.ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿನ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಂಕಟಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಮನೋಹರನಾಗಿದ್ದೀ. ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕವಾದದ್ದು.

27 How are the mighty fallen, And the weapons of war perished!ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಯುದ್ಧದ ಆಯುಧಗಳು ನಾಶವಾಗಿ ಹೋದವಲ್ಲಾ.
