2 Kings 16:12
ಅರಸನು ದಮಸ್ಕದಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಿ ಯನ್ನರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.

ಏನಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ಅರಾಮಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ--ಅವು ನನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದ ದಮಸ್ಕ ದವರ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದವು.

ಯೆಹೂದದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಧೂಪಸುಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತರ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದನು.
