1 Timothy 3
1 ಸಭಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷನ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಪಡಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಶಿಸುವವನು ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಕೆಲಸ ವನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬ ಮಾತು ಸತ್ಯವಾದ ದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ.
2 ಸಭಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷನು ದೋಷಾರೋಪಣೆಯಿಲ್ಲ ದವನೂ ಏಕಪತ್ನಿಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಜಿತೇಂದ್ರಿಯನೂ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಚಿತ್ತನೂ ಮಾನಸ್ಥನೂ ಅತಿಥಿಸತ್ಕಾರಮಾಡು ವವನೂ ಬೋಧಿಸುವದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೀಣನೂ ಆಗಿರತಕ್ಕದ್ದು.
3 ಅವನು ಕುಡಿಯುವವನಾಗಿರಬಾರದು. ಹೊಡೆದಾಡುವವನಾಗಿರಬಾರದು, ದ್ರವ್ಯಾಶೆಯುಳ್ಳವ ನಾಗಿರಬಾರದು; ಆದರೆ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಕುತರ್ಕ ಮಾಡದವನೂ ದುರಾಶೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನೂ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು.
4 ಪೂರ್ಣ ಗೌರವದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿ ಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಆಳುವವ ನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
5 (ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ಆಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿಳಿಯದವನು ದೇವರ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಪರಾಮರಿ ಸುವನು)?
6 ಅವನು ಹೊಸಬನಾಗಿರಬಾರದು; ಅಂಥ ವನಾದರೆ ಉಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೈತಾನನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಾವಿಧಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವನು.
7 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ನಿಂದೆಗೆ ಗುರಿ ಯಾಗದಂತೆಯೂ ಸೈತಾನನ ಉರ್ಲಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬೀಳ ದಂತೆಯೂ ಹೊರಗಿನವರಿಂದ ಒಳ್ಳೇಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವನಾಗಿರತಕ್ಕದ್ದು.
1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

3 ಅವನು ಕುಡಿಯುವವನಾಗಿರಬಾರದು. ಹೊಡೆದಾಡುವವನಾಗಿರಬಾರದು, ದ್ರವ್ಯಾಶೆಯುಳ್ಳವ ನಾಗಿರಬಾರದು; ಆದರೆ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಕುತರ್ಕ ಮಾಡದವನೂ ದುರಾಶೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವನೂ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು.
Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 ಪೂರ್ಣ ಗೌರವದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿ ಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಆಳುವವ ನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5 (ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ಆಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿಳಿಯದವನು ದೇವರ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಪರಾಮರಿ ಸುವನು)?
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6 ಅವನು ಹೊಸಬನಾಗಿರಬಾರದು; ಅಂಥ ವನಾದರೆ ಉಬ್ಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೈತಾನನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಾವಿಧಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವನು.
