ಅವನು ಬಾಳನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದನು.

ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಬೋಕೀಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದು--ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿದೆನು. ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾಡಿದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ನಿರರ್ಥಕ ಮಾಡೆನು.
