32 ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು--ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನನ್ನೂ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆಯಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
33 ಅವರು ಅರಸನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅರಸನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಹೇಸರಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿಸಿ ಗೀಹೋನಿಗೆ ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ.
34 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರಲು ಅಭಿ ಷೇಕಿಸಲಿ. ತುತೂರಿಯನ್ನು ಊದಿ--ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ದೇವರು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿ ಅನ್ನಿರಿ.
35 ಆಗ ಅವನು ಬಂದು ನನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂತು ಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀವು ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ; ಅವನು ನನಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವನು; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಾಯಕ ನಾಗಿರಲು ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
36 ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಆಮೆನ್: ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹೇಳಲಿ.
37 ಕರ್ತನು ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೇಗೆ ಇದ್ದನೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೊಲೊ ಮೋನನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೂ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಇವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನ ವನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಮಾಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
38 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನೂ ಕೆರೆತ್ಯರೂ ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯರೂ ಹೋಗಿ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀ ದನ ಹೇಸರ ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿಸಿ ಗೀಹೋನಿಗೆ ಕರತಂದರು.
39 ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನು ಗುಡಾರದೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೈಲದ ಕೊಂಬನ್ನು ತಂದು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ತುತೂರಿಯನ್ನು ಊದಿದರು. ಆಗ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು--ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ದೇವರು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿ ಅಂದರು.
40 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬಂದರು. ಜನರು ಪಿಳ್ಳಂಗೋವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಊದಿ ಮಹಾ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಕಂಪಿಸಿತು.
41 ಆಗ ಅದೋನೀಯನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರೂ ತಿಂದು ತೀರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ತುತೂರಿಯ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ--ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಗದ್ದಲದ ಶಬ್ದ ಯಾಕೆ ಅಂದನು.
42 ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡು ತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಎಬ್ಯಾತಾರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಬಂದನು. ಅದೋನೀ ಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಒಳಗೆ ಬಾ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೇ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತೀ ಅಂದನು.
43 ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅದೋನೀಯನಿಗೆ--ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯ ನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
44 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನನ್ನೂ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನನ್ನೂ ಕೆರೇತ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿ ಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
45 ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಹೇಸರಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿಸಿ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗೀಹೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರಲು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರು ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಕಾರಣ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಗದ್ದಲ ವಾಯಿತು.
46 ನೀವು ಕೇಳುವ ಶಬ್ದವು ಇದೇ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
47 ಇದರ ಹೊರತು ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು ನಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನೂ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಲು ಬಂದು--ದೇವರು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿಗಿಂತ ಉತ್ತಮ ವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲೆಂದೂ ಅವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಕ್ಕಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲೆಂದೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿ ರುವಾಗ ಅರಸನು ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಗಿದನು.
48 ಅರಸನು--ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇಂದು ನನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂಡುವವನನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
49 ಆಗ ಅದೋನೀ ಯನ ಸಂಗಡವಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೆದರಿಕೊಂಡು ಎದ್ದು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
50 ಆದರೆ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಹೋಗಿ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡನು.
51 ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಅದೋ ನೀಯನು ನಿನಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಅವನು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು --ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನನಗೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
52 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೊಲೊ ಮೋನನು--ಅವನು ಉತ್ತಮನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನ ಕೂದಲಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದರೂ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳದು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವನು ಅಂದನು.
32 And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.
33 The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:
34 And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow ye with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon.
35 Then ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my stead: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
36 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the Lord God of my lord the king say so too.
37 As the Lord hath been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.
38 So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David’s mule, and brought him to Gihon.
39 And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.
40 And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.
41 And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar?
42 And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings.
43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king.
44 And the king hath sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king’s mule:
45 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that ye have heard.
46 And also Solomon sitteth on the throne of the kingdom.
47 And moreover the king’s servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.
48 And also thus said the king, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which hath given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.
49 And all the guests that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way.
50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
52 And Solomon said, If he will shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.

33 ಅವರು ಅರಸನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅರಸನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಹೇಸರಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿಸಿ ಗೀಹೋನಿಗೆ ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ.
The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:

Then ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my stead: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
36 ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಆಮೆನ್: ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹೇಳಲಿ.
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the Lord God of my lord the king say so too.
37 ಕರ್ತನು ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೇಗೆ ಇದ್ದನೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೊಲೊ ಮೋನನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೂ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಇವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನ ವನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಮಾಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
As the Lord hath been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.
38 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನೂ ಕೆರೆತ್ಯರೂ ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯರೂ ಹೋಗಿ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀ ದನ ಹೇಸರ ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿಸಿ ಗೀಹೋನಿಗೆ ಕರತಂದರು.
So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David’s mule, and brought him to Gihon.
39 ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನು ಗುಡಾರದೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೈಲದ ಕೊಂಬನ್ನು ತಂದು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ತುತೂರಿಯನ್ನು ಊದಿದರು. ಆಗ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು--ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ದೇವರು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿ ಅಂದರು.
And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.
40 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬಂದರು. ಜನರು ಪಿಳ್ಳಂಗೋವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಊದಿ ಮಹಾ ಆನಂದದಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಕಂಪಿಸಿತು.

42 ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡು ತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಯಾಜಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಎಬ್ಯಾತಾರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಬಂದನು. ಅದೋನೀ ಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಒಳಗೆ ಬಾ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀನು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೇ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ತರುತ್ತೀ ಅಂದನು.
And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings.
43 ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅದೋನೀಯನಿಗೆ--ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯ ನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king.
44 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನನ್ನೂ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನನ್ನೂ ಕೆರೇತ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿ ಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

45 ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಹೇಸರಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿಸಿ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗೀಹೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರಲು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರು ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಕಾರಣ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಗದ್ದಲ ವಾಯಿತು.
And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that ye have heard.
46 ನೀವು ಕೇಳುವ ಶಬ್ದವು ಇದೇ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
And also Solomon sitteth on the throne of the kingdom.
47 ಇದರ ಹೊರತು ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು ನಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನೂ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಲು ಬಂದು--ದೇವರು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿಗಿಂತ ಉತ್ತಮ ವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲೆಂದೂ ಅವನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಕ್ಕಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲೆಂದೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿ ರುವಾಗ ಅರಸನು ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಗಿದನು.
And moreover the king’s servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.
48 ಅರಸನು--ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಇಂದು ನನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂಡುವವನನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
And also thus said the king, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which hath given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.
49 ಆಗ ಅದೋನೀ ಯನ ಸಂಗಡವಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೆದರಿಕೊಂಡು ಎದ್ದು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And all the guests that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way.
50 ಆದರೆ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎದ್ದು ಹೋಗಿ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡನು.
And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
51 ಆಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಅದೋ ನೀಯನು ನಿನಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇಗೋ, ಅವನು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು --ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನನಗೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
52 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೊಲೊ ಮೋನನು--ಅವನು ಉತ್ತಮನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನ ಕೂದಲಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದರೂ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳದು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವನು ಅಂದನು.
And Solomon said, If he will shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.
