1 Kings 1
1 ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ವೃದ್ಧನಾಗಿಯೂ ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಾಯಹೋದವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವಾಗ ಅವನನ್ನು ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊದಿಸಿದರು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
2 ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಅರಸನಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವೆವು; ಅವಳು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಅವನನ್ನು ಆದರಿಸಿ ಅರಸನಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗೆ ಆಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನ ಮಗ್ಗುಲಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಲಿ ಅಂದರು.
3 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವತಿಯಾದ ಹುಡುಗಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹುಡುಕಿ ಶೂನೇಮ್ಳಾದ ಅಬೀಷಗ್ಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರತಂದರು.
4 ಈ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವತಿಯಾದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯು ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಆದರಿಸಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿ ಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಳು; ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
5 ಆಗ ಹಗ್ಗೀತಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು--ನಾನೇ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ತನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ ರಾಹುತ ರನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನು.
6 ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯು ಎಂದಾದರೂ--ನೀನು ಯಾಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಬಹು ರೂಪವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
7 ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ತರು ವಾಯ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು. ಅವನು ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಬ್ಯಾತಾರನ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಮಾತನಾ ಡಿದನು; ಅವರು ಅದೋನೀಯನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
8 ಆದರೆ ಯಾಜಕ ನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ ಶಿಮ್ಮಿಯೂ ರೇಗಿಯೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮ ಶಾಲಿಗಳೂ ಅದೋನೀಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
9 ಆಗ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ರೋಗೆಲ್ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚೋಹೆಲೆತ್ ಎಂಬ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅರಸನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನೂ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದನು.
10 ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನನ್ನೂ ಬೆನಾಯನನ್ನೂ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋ ದರನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನೂ ಕರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
1 Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he gat no heat.
2 Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.
3 So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
4 And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king knew her not.
5 Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.
6 And his father had not displeased him at any time in saying, Why hast thou done so? and he also was a very goodly man; and his mother bare him after Absalom.
7 And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him.
8 But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men which belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.
9 And Adonijah slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and called all his brethren the king’s sons, and all the men of Judah the king’s servants:
10 But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not.

Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.
3 ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವತಿಯಾದ ಹುಡುಗಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹುಡುಕಿ ಶೂನೇಮ್ಳಾದ ಅಬೀಷಗ್ಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರತಂದರು.
So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
4 ಈ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವತಿಯಾದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯು ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಆದರಿಸಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸೇವಿ ಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಳು; ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king knew her not.
5 ಆಗ ಹಗ್ಗೀತಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು--ನಾನೇ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರಬೇಕು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ತನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ ರಾಹುತ ರನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನು.

6 ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯು ಎಂದಾದರೂ--ನೀನು ಯಾಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಬಹು ರೂಪವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.

And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him.
8 ಆದರೆ ಯಾಜಕ ನಾದ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನೂ ಶಿಮ್ಮಿಯೂ ರೇಗಿಯೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮ ಶಾಲಿಗಳೂ ಅದೋನೀಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men which belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.
9 ಆಗ ಅದೋನೀಯನು ರೋಗೆಲ್ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚೋಹೆಲೆತ್ ಎಂಬ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅರಸನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಹೋದರರನ್ನೂ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದನು.
And Adonijah slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and called all his brethren the king’s sons, and all the men of Judah the king’s servants:
10 ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ನಾತಾನನನ್ನೂ ಬೆನಾಯನನ್ನೂ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋ ದರನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನೂ ಕರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not.
