ಆದಕಾರಣ ಕರ್ತನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಹೀಗೆ ನಡೆದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದದರಿಂದ ನಿಶ್ಚಯ ವಾಗಿ ನಾನು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಕಸಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವೆನು.

ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು--ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಕೈ ಯಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹತ್ತು ಗೋತ್ರ ಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುವೆನು.

ಇದು ಸಾಲದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಇಂಥಿಂಥವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು. ನೀನು ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಈ ಕೆಟ್ಟಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಆತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆ ಯನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು? ನೀನು ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನಾದ ಊರೀಯನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿ; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿಸಿದಿ.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುವ ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ನನಗೆ ಅದು ದೂರವಾಗಿರಲಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸು ವವರನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸುವೆನು; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸು ವವರನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವೆನು.
Numbers 14:35
ಕರ್ತನಾದ ನಾನು ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿ ಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಈ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸಮೂಹಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲಾ ಇದನ್ನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ಈ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಕ್ಷೀಣವಾಗಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾಯುವರು.
