நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் என்றென்றைக்கும் திராட்சரசம் குடியாமலும், வீட்டைக்கட்டாமலும், விதையை விதையாமலும், திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தை நாட்டாமலும், அதைக் கையாளாமலும், உங்களுடைய எல்லா நாட்களிலும் கூடாரங்களிலே குடியிருப்பீர்களாக என்று எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

அவர்கள் பலிகளையும் சர்வாங்க தகனங்களையும் செலுத்த உட்பிரவேசித்த பின்பு, யெகூ வெளியிலே எண்பதுபேரைத் தனக்கு ஆயத்தமாக வைத்து: நான் உங்கள் கையில் ஒப்புவிக்கிற மனிதர்களில் ஒருவனை எவன் தப்பவிடுகிறானோ அவனுடைய ஜீவனுக்குப் பதிலாக அவனைத் தப்பவிட்டவனுடைய ஜீவன் ஈடாயிருக்கும் என்றான்.

அதன்படி பாகாலின் பக்தர்கள் காணிக்கைகளையும் தகனபலிகளையும் செலுத்த ஆலயத்திற்குள் சென்றனர். வெளியே, யெகூவின் 80 ஆட்கள் காத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். அவர்களிடம், “யாரையும் தப்பித்து போகும்படி விடாதீர்கள். எவனாவது எவனையாவது தப்பிக்கவிட்டால், அவன் தனது உயிரைக் கொடுக்க வேண்டும்” என்றான்.
