Zechariah 9
1 हद्राक देश के विषय में यहोवा का कहा हुआ भारी वचन जो दमिश्क पर भी पड़ेगा। क्योंकि यहोवा की दृष्टि मनुष्य जाति की, और इस्राएल के सब गोत्रों की ओर लगी है;
2 हमात की ओर जो दमिश्क के निकट है, और सोर और सीदोन की ओर, ये तो बहुत ही बुद्धिमान् हैं।
3 सोर ने अपने लिये एक गढ़ बनाया, और धूलि के किनकों की नाईं चान्दी, और सड़कों की कीच के समान चोखा सोना बटोर रखा है।
4 देखो, परमेश्वर उसको औरों के अधिकार में कर देगा, और उसके घमण्ड को तोड़ कर समुद्र में डाल देगा; और वह नगर आग का कौर हो जाएगा॥
5 यह देख कर अशकलोन डरेगा; अज्जा को दुख होगा, और एक्रोन भी डरेगा, क्योंकि उसकी आशा टूटेगी; और अज्जा में फिर राजा न रहेगा और अश्कलोन फिर बसी न रहेगी।
6 और अश्दोद में अनजाने लोग बसेंगे; इसी प्रकार मैं पलिश्तियों के गर्व को तोडूंगा।
7 मैं उसके मुंह में से आहेर का लोहू और घिनौनी वस्तुएं निकाल दूंगा, तब उन में से जो बचा रहेगा, वह हमारे परमेश्वर का जन होगा, और यहूदा में अधिपति सा होगा; और एक्रोन के लोग यबूसियों के समान बनेंगे।
8 तब मैं उस सेना के कारण जो पास से हो कर जाएगी और फिर लौट आएगी, अपने भवन के आस पास छावनी किए रहूंगा, और कोई सताने वाला फिर उनके पास से हो कर न जाएगा, क्योंकि मैं ये बातें अब भी देखता हूं॥
9 हे सिय्योन बहुत ही मगन हो। हे यरूशलेम जयजयकार कर! क्योंकि तेरा राजा तेरे पास आएगा; वह धर्मी और उद्धार पाया हुआ है, वह दीन है, और गदहे पर वरन गदही के बच्चे पर चढ़ा हुआ आएगा।
10 मैं एप्रैम के रथ और यरूशलेम के घोड़े नाश करूंगा; और युद्ध के धनुष तोड़ डाले जाएंगे, और वह अन्यजातियों से शान्ति की बातें कहेगा; वह समुद्र से समुद्र तक और महानद से पृथ्वी के दूर दूर के देशों तक प्रभुता करेगा॥
11 और तू भी सुन, क्योंकि मेरी वाचा के लोहू के कारण, मैं ने तेरे बन्दियों को बिना जल के गड़हे में से उबार लिया है।
12 हे आशा धरे हुए बन्दियों! गढ़ की ओर फिरो; मैं आज ही बताता हूं कि मैं तुम को बदले में दूना सुख दूंगा।
13 क्योंकि मैं ने धनुष की नाईं यहूदा को चढ़ा कर उस पर तीर की नाईं एप्रैम को लगाया है। मैं सिय्योन के निवासियों यूनान के निवासियों के विरुद्ध उभारूंगा, और उन्हें वीर की तलवार सा कर दूंगा।
14 तब यहोवा उनके ऊपर दिखाई देगा, और उसका तीर बिजली की नाईं छूटेगा; और परमेश्वर यहोवा नरसिंगा फूंक कर दक्खिन देश की सी आंधी में होके चलेगा।
15 सेनाओं का यहोवा ढाल से उन्हें बचाएगा, और वे अपने शत्रुओं का नाश करेंगे, और उनके गोफन के पत्थरों पर पांव धरेंगे; और वे पीकर ऐसा कोलाहल करेंगे जैसा लोग दाखमधु पीकर करते हैं; और वे कटोरे की नाईं वा वेदी के कोने की नाईं भरे जाएगें॥
16 उस समय उनका परमेश्वर यहोवा उन को अपनी प्रजा रूपी भेड़-बकरियां जान कर उनका उद्धार करेगा; और वे मुकुटमणि ठहर के, उसकी भूमि से बहुत ऊंचे पर चमकते रहेंगे।
17 उसका क्या ही कुशल, और क्या ही शोभा उसकी होगी! उसके जवान लोग अन्न खाकर, और कुमारियां नया दाखमधु पीकर हृष्टपुष्ट हो जाएंगी॥
1 The burden of the word of the Lord in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the Lord.
2 And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise.
3 And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.
4 Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.
5 Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.
6 And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
7 And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.
8 And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.
9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
10 And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
11 As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
12 Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
13 When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.
14 And the Lord shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
15 The Lord of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.
16 And the Lord their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.
17 For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.

1 यह बात सत्य है, कि जो अध्यक्ष होना चाहता है, तो वह भले काम की इच्छा करता है।
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2 सो चाहिए, कि अध्यक्ष निर्दोष, और एक ही पत्नी का पति, संयमी, सुशील, सभ्य, पहुनाई करने वाला, और सिखाने में निपुण हो।
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 पियक्कड़ या मार पीट करने वाला न हो; वरन कोमल हो, और न झगड़ालू, और न लोभी हो।
Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 अपने घर का अच्छा प्रबन्ध करता हो, और लड़के-बालों को सारी गम्भीरता से आधीन रखता हो।
One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5 जब कोई अपने घर ही का प्रबन्ध करना न जानता हो, तो परमेश्वर की कलीसिया की रखवाली क्योंकर करेगा?
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6 फिर यह कि नया चेला न हो, ऐसा न हो, कि अभिमान करके शैतान का सा दण्ड पाए।
Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7 और बाहर वालों में भी उसका सुनाम हो ऐसा न हो कि निन्दित होकर शैतान के फंदे में फंस जाए।
Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
8 वैसे ही सेवकों को भी गम्भीर होना चाहिए, दो रंगी, पियक्कड़, और नीच कमाई के लोभी न हों।
Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9 पर विश्वास के भेद को शुद्ध विवेक से सुरक्षित रखें।
Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 और ये भी पहिले परखे जाएं, तब यदि निर्दोष निकलें, तो सेवक का काम करें।
And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11 इसी प्रकार से स्त्रियों को भी गम्भीर होना चाहिए; दोष लगाने वाली न हों, पर सचेत और सब बातों में विश्वास योग्य हों।
Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
12 सेवक एक ही पत्नी के पति हों और लड़के बालों और अपने घरों का अच्छा प्रबन्ध करना जानते हों।
Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 क्योंकि जो सेवक का काम अच्छी तरह से कर सकते हैं, वे अपने लिये अच्छा पद और उस विश्वास में, जो मसीह यीशु पर है, बड़ा हियाव प्राप्त करते हैं॥
For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
14 मैं तेरे पास जल्द आने की आशा रखने पर भी ये बातें तुझे इसलिये लिखता हूं।
These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
15 कि यदि मेरे आने में देर हो तो तू जान ले, कि परमेश्वर का घर, जो जीवते परमेश्वर की कलीसिया है, और जो सत्य का खंभा, और नेव है; उस में कैसा बर्ताव करना चाहिए।
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16 और इस में सन्देह नहीं, कि भक्ति का भेद गम्भीर है; अर्थात वह जो शरीर में प्रगट हुआ, आत्मा में धर्मी ठहरा, स्वर्गदूतों को दिखाई दिया, अन्यजातियों में उसका प्रचार हुआ, जगत में उस पर विश्वास किया गया, और महिमा में ऊपर उठाया गया॥
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
