Jeremiah 51:58
सेनाओं का यहोवा यों भी कहता है, बाबुल की चौड़ी शहरपनाह नेव से ढाई जाएगी, और उसके ऊंचे फाटक आग लगाकर जलाए जाएंगे। और उस में राज्य राज्य के लोगों का परिश्रम व्यर्थ ठहरेगा, और जातियों का परिश्रम आग का कौर हो जाएगा और वे थक जाएंगे।

यशायाह 45:1
यहोवा अपने अभिषिक्त कुस्रू के विषय यों कहता है, मैं ने उस के दाहिने हाथ को इसलिये थाम लिया है कि उसके साम्हने जातियों को दबा दूं और राजाओं की कमर ढीली करूं, उसके साम्हने फाटकों को ऐसा खोल दूं कि वे फाटक बन्द न किए जाएं।
भजन संहिता 127:1
यदि घर को यहोवा न बनाए, तो उसके बनाने वालों को परिश्रम व्यर्थ होगा। यदि नगर की रक्षा यहोवा न करे, तो रखवाले का जागना व्यर्थ ही होगा।
यशायाह 65:23
उनका परिश्रम व्यर्थ न होगा, न उनके बालक घबराहट के लिये उत्पन्न होंगे; क्योंकि वे यहोवा के धन्य लोगों का वंश ठहरेंगे, और उनके बाल-बच्चे उन से अलग न होंगे।
यिर्मयाह 51:9
हम बाबुल का इलाज करते तो थे, परन्तु वह चंगी नहीं हुई। सो आओ, हम उसको तजकर अपने अपने देश को चले जाएं; क्योंकि उस पर किए हुए न्याय का निर्णय आकाश वरन स्वर्ग तक भी पहुंच गया है।
यिर्मयाह 51:30
बाबुल के शूरवीर गढ़ों में रहकर लड़ने से इनकार करते हैं, उनकी वीरता जाती रही है; और यह देख कर कि उनके वासस्थानों में आग लग गई वे स्त्री बन गए हैं; उसके फाटकों के बेण्डे तोड़े गए हैं।
