Matthew 1
1 इब्राहीम की सन्तान, दाऊद की सन्तान, यीशु मसीह की वंशावली।
2 इब्राहीम से इसहाक उत्पन्न हुआ; इसहाक से याकूब उत्पन्न हुआ; और याकूब से यहूदा और उसके भाई उत्पन्न हुए।
3 यहूदा से फिरिस, और यहूदा और तामार से जोरह उत्पन्न हुए; और फिरिस से हिस्रोन उत्पन्न हुआ, और हिस्रोन से एराम उत्पन्न हुआ।
4 और एराम से अम्मीनादाब उत्पन्न हुआ; और अम्मीनादाब से नहशोन और नहशोन से सलमोन उत्पन्न हुआ।
5 और सलमोन और राहब से बोअज उत्पन्न हुआ। और बोअज और रूत से ओबेद उत्पन्न हुआ; और ओबेद से यिशै उत्पन्न हुआ।
6 और यिशै से दाऊद राजा उत्पन्न हुआ॥
7 और दाऊद से सुलैमान उस स्त्री से उत्पन्न हुआ जो पहिले उरिय्याह की पत्नी थी।
8 और सुलैमान से रहबाम उत्पन्न हुआ; और रहबाम से अबिय्याह उत्पन्न हुआ; और अबिय्याह से आसा उत्पन्न हुआ; और आसा से यहोशफात उत्पन्न हुआ; और यहोशाफात से योराम उत्पन्न हुआ, और योराम से उज्ज़ियाह उत्पन्न हुआ।
9 और उज्ज़ियाह से योताम उत्पन्न हुआ; और योताम से आहाज उत्पन्न हुआ; और आहाज से हिजकिय्याह उत्पन्न हुआ।
10 और हिजकिय्याह से मनश्शिह उत्पन्न हुआ। और मनश्शिह से आमोन उत्पन्न हुआ; और आमोन से योशिय्याह उत्पन्न हुआ।
11 और बन्दी होकर बाबूल जाने के समय में योशिय्याह से यकुन्याह, और उस के भाई उत्पन्न हुए॥
12 बन्दी होकर बाबुल पहुंचाए जाने के बाद यकुन्याह से शालतिएल उत्पन्न हुआ; और शालतिएल से जरूब्बाबिल उत्पन्न हुआ।
13 और जरूब्बाबिल से अबीहूद उत्पन्न हुआ, और अबीहूद से इल्याकीम उत्पन्न हुआ; और इल्याकीम से अजोर उत्पन्न हुआ।
14 और अजोर से सदोक उत्पन्न हुआ; और सदोक से अखीम उत्पन्न हुआ; और अखीम से इलीहूद उत्पन्न हुआ।
15 और इलीहूद से इलियाजार उत्पन्न हुआ; और इलियाजर से मत्तान उत्पन्न हुआ; और मत्तान से याकूब उत्पन्न हुआ।
16 और याकूब से यूसुफ उत्पन्न हुआ; जो मरियम का पति था जिस से यीशु जो मसीह कहलाता है उत्पन्न हुआ॥
17 इब्राहीम से दाऊद तक सब चौदह पीढ़ी हुई और दाऊद से बाबुल को बन्दी होकर पहुंचाए जाने तक चौदह पीढ़ी और बन्दी होकर बाबुल को पहुंचाए जाने के समय से लेकर मसीह तक चौदह पीढ़ी हुई॥
18 अब यीशु मसीह का जन्म इस प्रकार से हुआ, कि जब उस की माता मरियम की मंगनी यूसुफ के साथ हो गई, तो उन के इकट्ठे होने के पहिले से वह पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से गर्भवती पाई गई।
19 सो उसके पति यूसुफ ने जो धर्मी था और उसे बदनाम करना नहीं चाहता था, उसे चुपके से त्याग देने की मनसा की।
20 जब वह इन बातों के सोच ही में था तो प्रभु का स्वर्गदूत उसे स्वप्न में दिखाई देकर कहने लगा; हे यूसुफ दाऊद की सन्तान, तू अपनी पत्नी मरियम को अपने यहां ले आने से मत डर; क्योंकि जो उसके गर्भ में है, वह पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से है।
21 वह पुत्र जनेगी और तू उसका नाम यीशु रखना; क्योंकि वह अपने लोगों का उन के पापों से उद्धार करेगा।
22 यह सब कुछ इसलिये हुआ कि जो वचन प्रभु ने भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा कहा था; वह पूरा हो।
23 कि, देखो एक कुंवारी गर्भवती होगी और एक पुत्र जनेगी और उसका नाम इम्मानुएल रखा जाएगा जिस का अर्थ यह है “ परमेश्वर हमारे साथ”।
24 सो यूसुफ नींद से जागकर प्रभु के दूत की आज्ञा अनुसार अपनी पत्नी को अपने यहां ले आया।
25 और जब तक वह पुत्र न जनी तब तक वह उसके पास न गया: और उस ने उसका नाम यीशु रखा॥
1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Job 16 in Tamil and English
1 तब अय्यूब ने कहा,
Then Job answered and said,
2 ऐसी बहुत सी बातें मैं सुन चुका हूँ, तुम सब के सब निकम्मे शान्तिदाता हो। क्या व्यर्थ बातों का अन्त कभी होगा?
I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.
3 तू कौन सी बात से झिड़ककर उत्तर देता।
Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?
4 जो तुम्हारी दशा मेरी सी होती, तो मैं भी तुम्हारी सी बातें कर सकता; मैं भी तुम्हारे विरुद्ध बातें जोड़ सकता, और तुम्हारे विरुद्ध सिर हिला सकता।
I also could speak as ye do: if your soul were in my soul’s stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you.
5 वरन मैं अपने वचनों से तुम को हियाव दिलाता, और बातों से शान्ति देकर तुम्हारा शोक घटा देता।
But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should asswage your grief.
6 चाहे मैं बोलूं तौभी मेरा शोक न घटेगा, चाहे मैं चुप रहूं, तौभी मेरा दु:ख कुछ कम न होगा।
Though I speak, my grief is not asswaged: and though I forbear, what am I eased?
7 परन्तु अब उसने मुझे उकता दिया है; उसने मेरे सारे परिवार को उजाड़ डाला है।
But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
8 और उसने जो मेरे शरीर को सुखा डाला है, वह मेरे विरुद्ध साक्षी ठहरा है, और मेरा दुबलापन मेरे विरुद्ध खड़ा हो कर मेरे साम्हने साक्षी देता है।
And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, which is a witness against me: and my leanness rising up in me beareth witness to my face.
9 उसने क्रोध में आकर मुझ को फाड़ा और मेरे पीछे पड़ा है; वह मेरे विरुद्ध दांत पीसता; और मेरा बैरी मुझ को आंखें दिखाता है।
He teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
10 अब लोग मुझ पर मुंह पसारते हैं, और मेरी नामधराई कर के मेरे गाल पर थपेड़ा मारते, और मेरे विरुद्ध भीड़ लगाते हैं।
They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves together against me.
11 ईश्वर ने मुझे कुटिलों के वश में कर दिया, और दुष्ट लोगों के हाथ में फेंक दिया है।
God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
12 मैं सुख से रहता था, और उसने मुझे चूर चूर कर डाला; उसने मेरी गर्दन पकड़ कर मुझे टुकड़े टुकड़े कर दिया; फिर उसने मुझे अपना निशाना बनाकर खड़ा किया है।
I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.
13 उसके तीर मेरे चारों ओर उड़ रहे हैं, वह निर्दय हो कर मेरे गुर्दों को बेधता है, और मेरा पित्त भूमि पर बहाता है।
His archers compass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground.
14 वह शूर की नाईं मुझ पर धावा कर के मुझे चोट पर चोट पहुंचा कर घायल करता है।
He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.
15 मैं ने अपनी खाल पर टाट को सी लिया है, और अपना सींग मिट्टी में मैला कर दिया है।
I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust.
16 रोते रोते मेरा मुंह सूज गया है, और मेरी आंखों पर घोर अन्धकार छा गया है;
My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death;
17 तौभी मुझ से कोई उपद्रव नहीं हुआ है, और मेरी प्रार्थना पवित्र है।
Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.
18 हे पृथ्वी, तू मेरे लोहू को न ढांपना, और मेरी दोहाई कहीं न रुके।
O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place.
19 अब भी स्वर्ग में मेरा साक्षी है, और मेरा गवाह ऊपर है।
Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high.
20 मेरे मित्र मुझ से घृणा करते हैं, परन्तु मैं ईश्वर के साम्हने आंसू बहाता हूँ,
My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God.
21 कि कोई ईश्वर के विरुद्ध सज्जन का, और आदमी का मुक़द्दमा उसके पड़ोसी के विरुद्ध लड़े।
O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour!
22 क्योंकि थोड़े ही वर्षों के बीतने पर मैं उस मार्ग से चला जाऊंगा, जिस से मैं फिर वापिस न लौटूंगा।
When a few years are come, then I shall go the way whence I shall not return.
