यीशु ने उन की ओर फिरकर कहा; हे यरूशलेम की पुत्रियों, मेरे लिये मत रोओ; परन्तु अपने और अपने बालकों के लिये रोओ।

இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: நான் பேசியது, தவறாக இருந்தால் எது தவறு என்று காட்டு; நான் பேசியது சரியானால், என்னை ஏன் அடிக்கிறாய் என்றார்.

அதற்கு இயேசு, “நான் ஏதாவது தப்பாகப் பேசியிருந்தால் எது தப்பு என்று இங்கு இருக்கிற எல்லாருக்கும் சொல். ஆனால் நான் சொன்னவை சரி என்றால் பிறகு ஏன் என்னை அடிக்கிறாய்?” என்று கேட்டார்.
