यशायाह 44
1 परन्तु अब हे मेरे दास याकूब, हे मेरे चुने हुए इस्राएल, सुन ले!
2 तेरा कर्त्ता यहोवा, जो तुझे गर्भ ही से बनाता आया और तेरी सहायता करेगा, यों कहता है, हे मेरे दास याकूब, हे मेरे चुने हुए यशूरून, मत डर!
3 क्योंकि मैं प्यासी भूमि पर जल और सूखी भूमि पर धाराएं बहाऊंगा; मैं तेरे वंश पर अपनी आत्मा और तेरी सन्तान पर अपनी आशीष उण्डेलूंगा।
4 वे उन मजनुओं की नाईं बढ़ेंगे जो धाराओं के पास घास के बीच में होते हैं।
5 कोई कहेगा, मैं यहोवा का हूं, कोई अपना नाम याकूब रखेगा, कोई अपने हाथ पर लिखेगा, मैं यहोवा का हूं, और अपना कुलनाम इस्राएली बताएगा॥
6 यहोवा, जो इस्राएल का राजा है, अर्थात सेनाओं का यहोवा जो उसका छुड़ाने वाला है, वह यों कहता है, मैं सब से पहिला हूं, और मैं ही अन्त तक रहूंगा; मुझे छोड़ कोई परमेश्वर है ही नहीं।
7 और जब से मैं ने प्राचीनकाल में मनुष्यों को ठहराया, तब से कौन हुआ जो मेरी नाईं उसको प्रचार करे, वा बताए वा मेरे लिये रचे अथवा होनहार बातें पहिले ही से प्रगट करे?
8 मत डरो और न भयमान हो; क्या मैं ने प्राचीनकाल ही से ये बातें तुम्हें नहीं सुनाईं और तुम पर प्रगट नहीं कीं? तुम मेरे साक्षी हो। क्या मुझे छोड़ कोई और परमेश्वर है? नहीं, मुझे छोड़ कोई चट्टान नहीं; मैं किसी और को नहीं जानता॥
9 जो मूरत खोदकर बनाते हैं, वे सब के सब व्यर्थ हैं और जिन वस्तुओं में वे आनन्द ढूंढते उन से कुछ लाभ न होगा; उसके साक्षी, न तो आप कुछ देखते और न कुछ जानते हैं, इसलिये उन को लज्जित होना पड़ेगा।
10 किस ने देवता वा निष्फल मूरत ढाली है?
11 देख, उसके सब संगियों को तो लज्जित होना पड़ेगा, कारीगर तो मनुष्य ही है; वे सब के सब इकट्ठे हो कर खड़े हों; वे डर जाएंगे; वे सब के सब लज्जित होंगे।
12 लोहार एक बसूला अंगारों में बनाता और हथौड़ों से गढ़कर तैयार करता है, अपने भुजबल से वह उसको बनाता है; फिर वह भूखा हो जाता है और उसका बल घटता है, वह पानी नहीं पीता और थक जाता है।
13 बढ़ई सूत लगाकर टांकी से रखा करता है और रन्दनी से काम करता और परकार से रेखा खींचता है, वह उसका आकार और मनुष्य की सी सुन्दरता बनाता है ताकि लोग उस घर में रखें।
14 वह देवदार को काटता वा वन के वृक्षों में से जाति जाति के बांजवृक्ष चुनकर सेवता है, वह एक तूस का वृक्ष लगाता है जो वर्षा का जल पाकर बढ़ता है।
15 तब वह मनुष्य के ईंधन के काम में आता है; वह उस में से कुछ सुलगाकर तापता है, वह उसको जलाकर रोटी बनाता है; उसी से वह देवता भी बनाकर उसको दण्डवत करता है; वह मूरत खुदवाकर उसके साम्हने प्रणाम करता है।
16 उसका एक भाग तो वह आग में जलाता और दूसरे भाग से मांस पकाकर खाता है, वह मांस भूनकर तृप्त होता; फिर तपाकर कहता है, अहा, मैं गर्म हो गया, मैं ने आग देखी है!
17 उसके बचे हुए भाग को लेकर वह एक देवता अर्थात एक मूरत खोदकर बनाता है; तब वह उसके साम्हने प्रणाम और दण्डवत करता और उस से प्रार्थना कर के कहता है, मुझे बचा ले, क्योंकि तू मेरा देवता है। वे कुछ नहीं जानते, न कुछ समझ रखते हैं;
18 क्योंकि उनकी आंखें ऐसी मून्दी गई हैं कि वे देख नहीं सकते; और उनकी बुद्धि ऐसी कि वे बूझ नहीं सकते।
19 कोई इस पर ध्यान नहीं करता, और न किसी को इतना ज्ञान वा समझ रहती है कि कह सके, उसका एक भाग तो मैं ने जला दिया और उसके कोयलों पर रोटी बनाईं; और मांस भूनकर खाया है; फिर क्या मैं उसके बचे हुए भाग को घिनौनी वस्तु बनाऊं? क्या मैं काठ को प्रणाम करूं?
20 वह राख खाता है; भरमाई हुई बुद्धि के कारण वह भटकाया गया है और वह न अपने को बचा सकता और न यह कह सकता है, क्या मेरे दाहिने हाथ में मिथ्या नहीं?
21 हे याकूब, हे इस्राएल, इन बातों को स्मरण कर, तू मेरा दास है, मैं ने तुझे रचा है; हे इस्राएल, तू मेरा दास है, मैं तुझ को न बिसराऊंगा।
22 मैं ने तेरे अपराधों को काली घटा के समान और तेरे पापों को बादल के समान मिटा दिया है; मेरी ओर फिर लौट आ, क्योंकि मैं ने तुझे छुड़ा लिया है॥
23 हे आकाश, ऊंचे स्वर से गा, क्योंकि यहोवा ने यह काम किया है; हे पृथ्वी के गहिरे स्थानों, जयजयकार करो; हे पहाड़ों, हे वन, हे वन के सब वृक्षों, गला खोल कर ऊंचे स्वर से गाओ! क्योंकि यहोवा ने याकूब को छुड़ा लिया है और इस्राएल में महिमावान होगा॥
24 यहोवा, तेरा उद्धारकर्त्ता, जो तुझे गर्भ ही से बनाता आया है, यों कहता है, मैं यहोवा ही सब का बनाने वाला हूं जिसने अकेले ही आकाश को ताना और पृथ्वी को अपनी ही शक्ति से फैलाया है।
25 मैं झूठे लोगों के कहे हुए चिन्हों को व्यर्थ कर देता और भावी कहने वालों को बावला कर देता हूं; जो बुद्धिमानों को पीछे हटा देता और उनकी पण्डिताई को मूर्खता बनाता हूं;
26 और अपने दास के वचन को पूरा करता और अपने दूतों की युक्ति को सफल करता हूं; जो यरूशलेम के विषय कहता है, वह फिर बसाई जाएगी और यहूदा के नगरों के विषय, वे फिर बनाए जाएंगे और मैं उनके खण्डहरों को सुधारूंगा;
27 जो गहिरे जल से कहता है, तू सूख जा, मैं तेरी नदियों को सुखाऊंगा;
28 जो कुस्रू के विषय में कहता है, वह मेरा ठहराया हुआ चरवाहा है और मेरी इच्छा पूरी करेगा; यरूशलेम के विषय कहता है, वह बसाई जाएगी और मन्दिर के विषय कि तेरी नेव डाली जाएगी॥
1 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:
2 Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
5 One shall say, I am the Lord’s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
9 They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?
11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.
12 The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
13 The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
14 He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.
15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
16 He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:
17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.
18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
19 And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
20 He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?
21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the Lord hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:
27 That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:
28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
Isaiah 49 in Tamil and English
1 हे द्वीपो, मेरी और कान लगाकर सुनो; हे दूर दूर के राज्यों के लोगों, ध्यान लगा कर मेरी सुनो! यहोवा ने मुझे गर्भ ही में से बुलाया, जब मैं माता के पेट में था, तब ही उसने मेरा नाम बताया।
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
2 उसने मेरे मुंह को चोखी तलवार के समान बनाया और अपने हाथ की आड़ में मुझे छिपा रखा; उसने मुझ को चमकिला तीर बनाकर अपने तर्कश में गुप्त रखा।
And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
3 और मुझ से कहा, तू मेरा दास इस्राएल है, मैं तुझ में अपनी महिमा प्रगट करूंगा।
And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
4 तब मैं ने कहा, मैं ने तो व्यर्थ परिश्रम किया, मैं ने व्यर्थ ही अपना बल खो दिया है; तौभी निश्चय मेरा न्याय यहोवा के पास है और मेरे परिश्रम का फल मेरे परमेश्वर के हाथ में है॥
Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the Lord, and my work with my God.
5 और अब यहोवा जिसने मुझे जन्म ही से इसलिये रख कि मैं उसका दास हो कर याकूब को उसकी ओर फेर ले आऊं अर्थात इस्राएल को उसके पास इकट्ठा करूं, क्योंकि यहोवा की दृष्टि में मैं आदरयोग्य हूं और मेरा परमेश्वर मेरा बल है,
And now, saith the Lord that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength.
6 उसी ने मुझ से यह भी कहा है, यह तो हलकी सी बात है कि तू याकूब के गोत्रों का उद्धार करने और इस्राएल के रक्षित लोगों को लौटा ले आने के लिये मेरा सेवक ठहरे; मैं तुझे अन्यजातियों के लिये ज्योति ठहराऊंगा कि मेरा उद्धार पृथ्वी की एक ओर से दूसरी ओर तक फैल जाए॥
And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
7 जो मनुष्यों से तुच्छ जाना जाता, जिस से जातियों को घृणा है, और, जो अपराधियों का दास है, इस्राएल का छुड़ाने वाला और उसका पवित्र अर्थात यहावो यों कहता है, कि राजा उसे देखकर खड़े हो जाएंगे और हाकिम दण्डवत करेंगे; यह यहोवा के निमित्त होगा, जो सच्चा और इस्राएल का पवित्र है और जिसने तुझे चुन लिया है॥
Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
8 यहोवा यों कहता है, अपनी प्रसन्नता के समय मैं ने तेरी सुन ली, उद्धार करने के दिन मैं ने तेरी सहायता की है; मैं तेरी रक्षा कर के तुझे लोगों के लिये एक वाचा ठहराऊंगा, ताकि देश को स्थिर करे और उजड़े हुए स्थानों को उनके अधिकारियों के हाथ में दे दे; और बंधुओं से कहे, बन्दीगृह से निकल आओ;
Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
9 और जो अन्धियारे में हैं उन से कहे, अपने आप को दिखलाओ! वे मार्गों के किनारे किनारे पेट भरने पाएंगे, सब मुण्डे टीलों पर भी उन को चराई मिलेगी।
That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
10 वे भूखे और प्यासे होंगे, न लूह और न घाम उन्हें लगेगा, क्योंकि, वह जो उन पर दया करता है, वही उनका अगुवा होगा, और जल के सोतों के पास उन्हें ले चलेगा।
They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
11 और, मैं अपने सब पहाड़ों को मार्ग बना दूंगा, और मेरे राजमार्ग ऊंचे किए जाएंगे।
And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
12 देखो, ये दूर से आएंगे, और, ये उत्तर और पच्छिम से और सीनियों के देश से आएंगे।
Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
13 हे आकाश, जयजयकार कर, हे पृथ्वी, मगन हो; हे पहाड़ों, गला खोल कर जयजयकार करो! क्योंकि यहोवा ने अपनी प्रजा को शान्ति दी है और अपने दीन लोगों पर दया की है॥
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.
14 परन्तु सिय्योन ने कहा, यहोवा ने मुझे त्याग दिया है, मेरा प्रभु मुझे भूल गया है।
But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
15 क्या यह हो सकता है कि कोई माता अपने दूधपिउवे बच्चे को भूल जाए और अपने जन्माए हुए लड़के पर दया न करे? हां, वह तो भूल सकती है, परन्तु मैं तुझे नहीं भूल सकता।
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
16 देख, मैं ने तेरा चित्र हथेलियों पर खोदकर बनाया है; तेरी शहरपनाह सदैव मेरी दृष्टि के साम्हने बनी रहती है।
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
17 तेरे लड़के फुर्ती से आ रहे हैं और खण्डहर बनाने वाले और उजाड़ने वाले तेरे बीच से निकले जा रहे हैं।
Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.
18 अपनी आंखें उठा कर चारों ओर देख, वे सब के सब इकट्ठे हो कर तेरे पास आ रहे हैं। यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि मेरे जीवन की शपथ, तू निश्चय उन सभों को गहने के समान पहिल लेगी, तू दुल्हिन की नाईं अपने शरीर में उन सब को बान्ध लेगी॥
Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the Lord, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.
19 तेरे जो स्थान सुनसान और उजड़े हैं, और तेरे जो देश खण्डहर ही खण्डहर हैं, उन में अब निवासी न समाएंगे, और, तुझे नष्ट करने वाले दूर हो जाएंगे।
For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.
20 तेरे पुत्र जो तुझ से ले लिए गए वे फिर तेरे कान में कहने पाएंगे कि यह स्थान हमारे लिये सकेत है, हमें और स्थान दे कि उस में रहें।
The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell.
21 तब तू मन में कहेगी, किस ने इन को मेरे लिये जन्माया? मैं तो पुत्रहीन और बांझ हो गई थी, दासत्व में और यहां वहां मैं घूमती रही, इन को किस ने पाला? देख, मैं अकेली रह गई थी; फिर ये कहां थे?
Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?
22 प्रभु यहोवा यों कहता है, देख, मैं अपना हाथ जाति जाति के लोगों की ओर उठाऊंगा, और देश देश के लोगों के साम्हने अपना झण्डा खड़ा करूंगा; तब वे तेरे पुत्रों को अपनी गोद में लिए आएंगे, और तेरी पुत्रियों को अपने कन्धे पर चढ़ाकर तेरे पास पहुंचाएंगे।
Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
23 राजा तेरे बच्चों के निज-सेवक और उनकी रानियां दूध पिलाने के लिये तेरी धाइयां होंगी। वे अपनी नाक भूमि पर रगड़ कर तुझे दण्डवत करेंगे और तेरे पांवों की धूलि चाटेंगे। तब तू यह जान लेगी कि मैं ही यहोवा हूं; मेरी बाट जोहने वाले कभी लज्जित न होंगे॥
And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.
24 क्या वीर के हाथ से शिकार छीना जा सकता है? क्या दुष्ट के बंधुए छुड़ाए जा सकते हैं?
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
25 तौभी यहोवा यों कहता है, हां, वीर के बंधुए उस से छीन लिए जांएगे, और बलात्कारी का शिकार उसके हाथ से छुड़ा लिया जाएगा, क्योंकि जो तुझ से लड़ते हैं उन से मैं आप मुकद्दमा लडूंगा, और तेरे लड़के-बालों का मैं उद्धार करूंगा।
But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
26 जो तुझ पर अन्धेर करते हैं उन को मैं उन्हीं का मांस खिलाऊंगा, और, वे अपना लोहू पीकर ऐसे मत वाले होंगे जैसे नये दाखमधु से होते हैं। तब सब प्राणी जान लेंगे कि तेरा उद्धारकर्ता यहोवा और तेरा छुड़ाने वाला, याकूब का शक्तिमान मैं ही हूं॥
And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
