હિઝિક્યાએ તેને યહોવાના મંદિરમાંની અને રાજમહેલના ભંડારમાંથી બધી ચાંદી આપી દીધી;

ત્યારબાદ આસાએ મંદિરના તથા રાજમહેલના ખજાનામાં બાકી રહેલું સોનું અને ચાંદી એકઠાં કરીને દમસ્કમાં રહેતા અરામના રાજા બેનહદાદને આપવા પોતાના અધિકારીઓને મોકલ્યા. બેનહદાદ ટાબ્રિમ્મોનનો પુત્ર અને હેઝયોનનો પૌત્ર હતો. અધિકારીઓ સાથે રાજાએ આ સંદેશો મોકલ્યો કે,

તેથી યહૂદિયાના રાજા યોઆશે તેના પિતૃઓએ, એટલે કે યહૂદિયાના રાજાઓ યહોશાફાટે, યહોરામે તથા અહાઝયાએ જે સર્વ પવિત્ર વસ્તુઓ અર્પણ કરી હતી તે તથા તેની પોતાની અર્પણ કરેલી વસ્તુઓ, તેમજ યહોવાના મંદિરના તથા રાજાના મહેલના ભંડારમાંથી જે સોનું મળી આવ્યું તે સર્વ લઈને અરામના રાજા હઝાએલ પર મોકલ્યાં; એટલે તે યરૂશાલેમથી જતો રહ્યો.

એટલે આસાએ યહોવાના મંદિરના અને રાજમહેલના ભંડારોમાંથી સોનુચાંદી બહાર કાઢી દમસ્કમાં રહેતા અરામના રાજા બેનહદાદને સંદેશો મોકલાવ્યો કે,

તેના પિતાએ તેમજ તેણે પોતે યહોવાને સોનું, ચાંદી અને ચાંદીના વાસણો વગેરે યહોવાને અર્પણ કર્યુ.
