છતાં યરોબઆમે તેમની પાસે જે પાપકમોર્ કરાવ્યાં હતાં તે તેમણે છોડયાં નહિ. સમરૂનમાં અશેરા દેવીની એક પ્રતિમા પણ હતી.

તેણે યહોવાની ષ્ટિએ અયોગ્ય ગણાય તેવું આચરણ કર્યું અને નબાટના પુત્ર યરોબઆમે જે પાપ કમોર્ કર્યા હતાં તે કરવાનું તેણે ચાલું રાખ્યું, તેણે તે વસ્તુઓ છોડી નહિ.

તેણે તેના પિતૃઓની જેમ યહોવાની દ્રષ્ટિએ અયોગ્ય ગણાય એવું આચરણ કર્યુ, તેણે નબાટના પુત્ર યરોબઆમે ઇસ્રાએલીઓ પાસે જે પાપકમોર્ કરાવ્યાં હતાં તે પાપકમોર્ છોડયાં નહિ.
