2 Chronicles 35:11
તેઓએ પાસ્ખાના પશુઓની બલિ ચઢાવી લેવીઓ બલિ ચઢાવેલા પશુઓની ચામડી ઊતારતા હતા. પછી યાજકોએ લેવીઓએ આપેલું લોહી વેદી ઉપર છાંટયું.

પણ યાજકો ઓછા હોવાથી એ સર્વ દહનાર્પણો તેઓ ઉતરડી શક્યા નહિ, માટે તેઓના ભાઇ લેવીઓએ એ કામ પૂરું થતાં સુધી તથા યાજકોએ પોતાને પવિત્ર કર્યા ત્યાં સુધી તેઓને મદદ કરી; કેમ કે પોતાને પવિત્ર કરવા વિષે યાજકો કરતાં લેવીઓ વધારે કાળજી રાખતાં હતા.

પરંતુ વેદીને લગતી અને પડદાની અંદર પરમપવિત્રસ્થાનમાં લગતી યાજક તરીકેની બધી જ ફરજો તારે અને તારા પુત્રોએ જ પુરી કરવાની છે. કારણ કે, તમાંરી યાજક તરીકેની સેવા મેં તમને ભેટો તરીકે આપી છે. બીજુ કોઈ જે માંરા પવિત્રસ્થાનની નજીક આવે તો તેને મૃત્યુદંડની જ શિક્ષા કરવી.”

આથી યાજકોએ બળદોને વધેર્યા અને તેમનું લોહી વેદી પર છાંટયું. ત્યારબાદ તેણે ઘેટાંઓને વધેર્યા અને તેનું લોહી વેદી પર છાંટયું. પછી નર બકરાઁ વધેરી તેમનું લોહી વેદી ઉપર છાંટયું.

પછી તેઓ, મૂસાના નિયમ મુજબ પોતાના દરજ્જા પ્રમાણે પોતપોતાની જગ્યાએ ઊભા રહ્યા; યાજકોએ લેવીઓ પાસેથી રકત લઇને વેદી પર છાંટયું.
