Proverbs 27 - ASV (Gujarati)

1 Boast not thyself of tomorrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.આવતી કાલની બડાશ મારીશ નહિ, કારણ, આવતીકાલે શું થઇ જાય તે તું જાણતો નથી.

2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips.તારાં વખાણ બીજાને કરવા દે, તારે મોઢે ન કર; પારકો ભલે કરે, તું ન કર.

3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; But a fool's vexation is heavier than they both.પથ્થર વજનદાર હોય છે, અને રેતી ભારે હોય છે; પરંતુ મૂર્ખની ઉશ્કેરણી બંન્ને કરતાઁ ભારે હોય છે.

4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; But who is able to stand before jealousy?ક્રોધ ક્રૂર છે, અને કોપ રેલરૂપ છે, પણ ઇર્ષ્યા આગળ કોણ ટકી શકે?

5 Better is open rebuke Than love that is hidden.છુપાવેલા પ્રેમ કરતાં ઉઘાડો ઠપકો સારો છે.

6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; But the kisses of an enemy are profuse.મિત્રના ઘા પ્રામાણિક હોય છે, દુશ્મનનાં ચુંબન શંકાશીલ હોય છે.

7 The full soul loatheth a honeycomb; But to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.ધરાયેલાને મધ પણ કડવું લાગે છે, જ્યારે ભૂખ્યાને કડવું પણ મીઠું લાગે છે.

8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, So is a man that wandereth from his place.પોતાનું ઘર છોડીને ભટકતી વ્યકિત પોતાનો માળો છોડી દીધેલા પક્ષી જેવી છે.

9 Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; So doth the sweetness of a man's friend `that cometh' of hearty counsel.જેમ સુગંધીથી અને અત્તરથી મન પ્રસન્ન થાય છે, અંત:કરણથી સલાહ આપનાર મિત્રની મીઠાશથી પણ થાય છે.

10 Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; And go not to thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off.તારા પોતાના મિત્રને તથા તારા પિતાના મિત્રને ન તજીશ. વિપત્તિને સમયે તારા ભાઇને ઘેર ન જઇશ. દૂરના ભાઇ કરતાં નજીકનો પડોશી સારો.

11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, That I may answer him that reproacheth me.મારા દીકરા જ્ઞાની થા, અને મારા હૃદયને આનંદથી ભરી દે, જેથી મને મહેણાં મારનારને હું જવાબ આપી શકું.

12 A prudent man seeth the evil, `and' hideth himself; `But' the simple pass on, `and' suffer for it.ચતુર વ્યકિત આફતને આવતી જોઇને તેને ટાળે છે, અવિચારી માણસ આગળ વધતો રહે છે અને તેને લીધે સહન કરે છે.

13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger; And hold him in pledge `that is surety' for a foreign woman.અજાણ્યાનો જામીન થનારનાં કપડાં લઇ લેવાં, અને જો તે દુરાચારી સ્ત્રીનો જામીન થાય તો તેને તાબામાં પકડી લેવો.

14 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, It shall be counted a curse to him.જે કોઇ પરોઢિયે ઊઠીને પોતાના મિત્રને મોટે સાદે આશીર્વાદ દે છે, તે તેને શાપ સમાન લાગશે.

15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day And a contentious woman are alike:ચોમાસામાં ચૂતું છાપરું તથા કજિયાળી સ્ત્રી બંને બરાબર છે.

16 He that would restrain her restraineth the wind; And his right hand encountereth oil.જે તેણીને રોકી શકે તે પવનને રોકી શકે, અને પોતાના જમણા હાથમાં લગાવેલા તેલની સુગંધ પણ પકડી શકે.

17 Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.લોઢું લોઢાને તેજ બનાવે છે, તેમ એક મિત્ર બીજા મિત્રને તેજ બનાવે છે.

18 Whoso keepeth the fig-tree shall eat the fruit thereof; And he that regardeth his master shall be honored.જે કોઇ અંજીરી સાચવે છે તે અંજીર ખાશે, જે પોતાના ધણીની કાળજી કરે છે તે માન પામે છે.

19 As in water face `answereth' to face, So the heart of man to man.જેમ માણસોનો ચહેરો પાણીમાં પ્રતિબિંબિત થાય છે, તેવી જ રીતે એક માણસનું હૃદય બીજા માણસના હૃદયમાં પ્રતિબિંબિત થાય છે.

20 Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; And the eyes of man are never satisfied.જેમ શેઓલ અને અબદોન કદી તૃપ્ત થતાં નથી; તે જ રીતે માણસની આંખો કદી તૃપ્ત થતી નથી.

21 The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold; And a man is `tried' by his praise.રૂપું ગાળવા સારુ કુલડી અને સોનાને માટે ભઠ્ઠી હોય છે તેમ વ્યકિતની પરીક્ષા બીજા તેની પ્રશંસા કરે તેના પરથી થાય છે.

22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with bruised grain, Yet will not his foolishness depart from him.ઘંટીમાં અનાજની જેમ દળાય તોયે મૂર્ખની મૂર્ખાઇ ન જાય.

23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, `And' look well to thy herds:તારાં ઘેટાંબકરાંની પરિસ્થિતીથી બરાબર માહિતગાર રહે. તારા ઢોરઢાંકરની પૂરતી સંભાળ લે.

24 For riches are not for ever: And doth the crown endure unto all generations?કારણ ધન સદા ટકતું નથી અને રાજમુગટ કાયમ રહેતો નથી.

25 The hay is carried, and the tender grass showeth itself, And the herbs of the mountains are gathered in.સૂકું ઘાસ વઢાઇ જાય ત્યાં નવું ઘાસ ફૂટે છે, પર્વત પરની વનસ્પતિઓ ભેગી કરી લેવામાં આવે છે.

26 The lambs are for thy clothing, And the goats are the price of the field;ઘેટાં તને વસ્ત્રો આપે છે, અને બકરાં તારાં ખેતરનું મૂલ્ય છે;

27 And `there will be' goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, And maintenance for thy maidens.વળી બકરીનું દૂધ તને, તારા કુટુંબને અને તારી દાસીઓના ગુજરાન માટે ચાલશે.
