તેણે દેવ યહોવાની ષ્ટિએ ખોટું ગણાય એવું આચરણ કર્યુ. આથી બાબિલનો રાજા નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર તેના ઉપર ચઢી આવ્યો અને તેને સાંકળ બાંધી બાબિલ લઇ ગયો.

આથી હું યહોવા તને કહું છું કે તારા પછી દાઉદની ગાદીએ બેસનાર કોઇ વંશજ તારો રહેશે નહિ, અને તારું શબ દિવસના બળબળતા તાપમાં અને રાત્રીની કડકડતી ઠંડીમાં બહાર ફેકી દેવામા આવશે.

યહોયાકીમનાઁ રાજ્યમાં બીજા બનાવો, તેણે ઘૃણાજનક કાર્યો કર્યા હતા અને જેને માટે તેને ગુનેગાર ઠરાવવામાં આવ્યો હતો તે બધું ઇસ્રાએલના અને યહૂદાના રાજાઓનાં વૃત્તાંતમાં નોંધાયેલું છે, તેના પછી તેનો પુત્ર યહોયાખીન ગાદીએ આવ્યો.
